Mr Gay Hong Kong 2011

Hello, Friends!

"Why did you put up Mr Gay Hong Kong?" Johannes Pong asked me back in 2009.

"Because I'm too chicken to be a contestant," I replied.

It's true.

It takes a lot of guts to join ANY pageant. If it were a gay pageant, hell, your commitment better be through the roof. You have to look good on the outside - Gym! Diet! Hair! Clothes! And you have to feel good on the inside - confidence matters a lot, sure, and it needs to be buttressed by good intentions. After all, we're talking "World Peace" here. Honestly. The winner of Mr Gay HK becomes a spokesperson for the campaign against homophobic bullying in schools.

I'm Hyperactive, sure, but I don't have delusions that I'm the perfect person to carry such a grand title! What I have, though, is the energy and imagination to bring people together.

So I've brought these 4 brave young men together on a journey to prove that There's More Than One Way To Be A Man!®

And on Saturday, the Grand Finale, one of them is going to win - thus beginning the journey of a lifetime.

Isn't that fabulous?

Edmund Lee
I met Edmund on a boat trip. I asked him to join the competition - and he said yes. He's such a dish, honestly. He was the first one to say "Yes" to being a candidate this year, thus, he's "The Original Hustler."

Jimmy Wong
Jimmy's body is so perfect, it should be illegal. It makes us, mere mortals, look sloppy in comparison. I first met him in 2006, I think, back when he was sinewy. He has obvs gotten beefy since then, and that's so fly. Can't get enough Jimmy? Come to the Grand Finale.

Bridge Hudson
I'm surprised I managed to speak with Bridge about joining the competition at all, because we met at drop at, oh, 3am on a Sunday morning. Bridge has shown a tremendous amount of discipline in preparation for this year's pageant, and that's so admirable.

Ricky Chau
He's fun and funny and adorable and oh-so-candid. Plus, he's great with lesbians. I met Ricky at the first Electric Party on Wing Lok street - totally random. I asked him to join, he said yes, and now here we are. Being around Ricky is such a breath of fresh air. He's real, and that's awesome.

Aww, aren't they cute?

Support these brave guys and get your Grand Finale tickets!

Here's HOW.
