Hanoi is an old whore.
She's tired and clever and cynical and crass.
She's occasionally funny - although she may not always intend it - but mostly she's just matter-of-fact and realistic and naturally gritty. If you watch close enough, you may still see flashes of that feisty streetwalker who knows what it's like to pound pavement to make both ends meet.
She has seen everything. She's all the worse for wear, and it shows. She wears every crack, crease and crevice proudly, as though they were a Girl Scout's merit badges.
